Mary Washington Asparagus

One seedling in a pot (90mm first-year plant) Heirloom

asparagus officinalis – Perennial
Height 65 cm x 40 cm

Beds last up to 20 years.

Plant in full sun in rich well-drained soil, slightly raised beds. Add a layer of rich compost during spring.

Do not harvest any spears in the first year after planting. Instead, allow the spears to become ferns and build the strength of the plant. Harvest for two weeks in the next year and up to six weeks thereafter.
