Height 50 cm x 50 cm
Also known as Black Cabbage and Kale Lacinato.
Prefers full sun but can benefit from light shade during hot weather. Plant in well-drained, fertile soil high in organic matter. Provide plentiful, consistent moisture. Can tolerate drought, but quality and flavour of leaves suffer.
Plant grows up in the form of a palm tree with narrow recurved dark green savoyed leaves in a rosette on top of the stem. Old very ornamental rustic Italian variety.
