foeniculum vulgare – Annual
Height 40 cm x 25 cm

Plant in rich moist soil, requires consistent moisture levels to achieve size and to avoid bolting. Part shade in summer.

Forms enlarged pseudo-bulb at the base of the leaves. Cut the bulb above the soil, but leave the root in the ground. This may re-sprout and produce a second harvest of smaller, tender shoots.

 Use bulb raw in salads or cooked
